If a Really, Really, Really Loud Noise...

...Comes from the forest, will anyone hear it?
Yes, everywhere, too.
Yesterday, at about 7 o'clock in the evening, the Edmontonian plains experienced their first ever tide. Yes, the whoosh shoosh of water could be heard from far and wide. From my house, it sounded like it was just beyond the fence. So my brother Ivan and I went to
see what it was. We jogged beyond the fence, and their was nothing there (we were expecting a giant blowing up a bouncy castle considering the noise). So we kept going. And going. And going. And going until we reached the ravine. We deduced that it was coming from the forest, so we went down. At 8 PM.
And the noise got louder. And louder. And louder. As we walked by the river, we decided that enough was enough and disappointedly headed home. Good thing, too, because guess what the tides were? It was a gasline that had exploded and that was leaking very, very, very far away. Very far away and not in the forest at all.
I think I heard coyotes.

Portal 2 "Adopts" Controversy

No matter who you are, gamer or not, Portal 2 is fun. There is something that appeals to everyone: hilarious dialogue, deep puzzles, massive action sequences, hilarious dialogue, hilarious dialogue. Hilarious dialogue.
But someone is not amused by Portal 2's hilarious dialogue.
North Carolina resident Neil Staples was playing the game with his adopted daughter when the antagonist started calling the player a fatty. An adopted fatty.
WBTV, the local station that reported this exciting and informative story, has been receiving hate mail ever since. Why? Because they reported that Staples is shocked. And doesn't know what to do. He's probably scared, too. And confused. And dazed. What happened?
The antagonist of the game (no spoilers for you, because you WILL eventually play it) is attempting to put down and scare the protagonist, Chell, into continuing testing at the Aperture Test Facility. Among the insults that [NO SPOILERS FOR YOU, FATTY] utters are jokes about adoption. What WBTV did, though, was take the jokes out of context: the antagonist later apologizes, and another character (sort of) praises adoption. I'm not going to add the video, because I don't like spoilers, If you haven't noticed. But if you want to see Neil Staples have a nice little rant, it's on youtube: http://youtu.be/UUQYrdgIJuI. But I really recommend you don't do it. For the good of all of us.
BUT, I do commend the station for posting a followup to the first report, where they post viewer comments and the such. Sort of lets them regain a bit of credibility. Now get out there, you mute, adopted, lunatic.

Here's a nice little Youtube comment for you:
TheNOOBPWN: how come the dad wasnt hurt when they made fun of people with brain damage at the beginning?

"Apocalypse, No?" Judgement Day Report

I guess we were all secretly waiting for that earthquake to happen. If you haven't noticed yet, it hasn't. I'm actually a bit disappointed about that: I wanted to take up arms against the Antichrist. But oh well.
I will tell you though, I am a bit sorry for that old chap. Sure, he made some crazy numerological connections, but now he's going to have a large pile of fecal matter dumped on him. Does he really deserve it just for making crazy assumptions?
Yes, Judgement Day was not May 21, 2011. Just to put it out there. Harold Camping is nowhere to be found, and supporters are wondering what the hell just (has not) happened.
HAROLD CAMPING IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND, I SAY!
If anyone does find him, think about whether dumping fecal matter is a valid choice. It may be.

P.S.
Fun Fact: April 21, 2011 was judgement day in the famed Terminator series of shows and films. Maybe Camping wasn't just using crazy math...
