Portal 2 "Adopts" Controversy

No matter who you are, gamer or not, Portal 2 is fun. There is something that appeals to everyone: hilarious dialogue, deep puzzles, massive action sequences, hilarious dialogue, hilarious dialogue. Hilarious dialogue.
But someone is not amused by Portal 2's hilarious dialogue.
North Carolina resident Neil Staples was playing the game with his adopted daughter when the antagonist started calling the player a fatty. An adopted fatty.
WBTV, the local station that reported this exciting and informative story, has been receiving hate mail ever since. Why? Because they reported that Staples is shocked. And doesn't know what to do. He's probably scared, too. And confused. And dazed. What happened?
The antagonist of the game (no spoilers for you, because you WILL eventually play it) is attempting to put down and scare the protagonist, Chell, into continuing testing at the Aperture Test Facility. Among the insults that [NO SPOILERS FOR YOU, FATTY] utters are jokes about adoption. What WBTV did, though, was take the jokes out of context: the antagonist later apologizes, and another character (sort of) praises adoption. I'm not going to add the video, because I don't like spoilers, If you haven't noticed. But if you want to see Neil Staples have a nice little rant, it's on youtube: http://youtu.be/UUQYrdgIJuI. But I really recommend you don't do it. For the good of all of us.
BUT, I do commend the station for posting a followup to the first report, where they post viewer comments and the such. Sort of lets them regain a bit of credibility. Now get out there, you mute, adopted, lunatic.

Here's a nice little Youtube comment for you:
TheNOOBPWN: how come the dad wasnt hurt when they made fun of people with brain damage at the beginning?

Feo.
